Is there any downside to have the trans filter and fluid changed? I only have 35k, but the trans

downshifts hard once in a while when going slow, then accellerating. Its a bother but I am just wondering if the cure is worse than the symptom. I know that Audi says lifetime but is that just a cost issue or have people had problems after changing the fluid?
I did STFA and it is unclear.

happens a few times a week but it is annoying when it happens. I'm wondering if it could be a dirty valve. I thought that changing the valve would be a cheaper experiment to see if that fixes it.

I had my transmission oil changed at 32k because of an oil leak. I decided to send a sample to Blackstone Labs for an analysis. This was their response.
FRANK: This sample of original ATF in your transmission contains a higher than average amount of
wear metals coming off the torque converter and clutch plates. That may be normal since they are
from new parts going through wear-in. Insolubles (oil oxidation due to heat and use) measured at
0.1% of the sample indicating the transmission filter was pretty much at its limit. Changing this ATF
and filter will get rid of these excess wear metals (which make the oil abrasive and causes extra wear)
and insolubles. You should be able to run 50,000 miles on the next ATF.

The cost was $20 however I think it went up to $23. Someone on another forum was trying to get a Blackstone oil analysis group buy together.
