Which of these sedans whould you feel most safe in if you were in a serious crash?

Last I checked there are a lot of knowledgable people on this forum. And yes, I look at the publications, but real world experience is important too.

that I'm aware of have walked away. I'd have to say the A6, seemed to me, bumps and bruises were the main complaint. With that said, I like April's idea much better. Accident avoidance is were it's at, and I feel quattro and driving school will help with that.

...then I'd probably rather be in the E if it's a very serious accident. I was amazed by how much engineering goes into protecting passengers in the E - right down to doors that are designed not to get jammed because of the crash.

the C5 A6 is dated compared to the new E and 5 series, and cars seem to keep getting safer. The A4 has a very high safety rating.

I'd take the new 5 followed by the much older Volvo S60 design in that order (however the new 2004.5 S40 is safer than even the larger older S60 based on crash test results.)
