Default thinking about trading my 2.7T allroad for used A6 4.2.................

We will be getting a minivan soon so the allroad will no longer serve as the family hauler. Any particular year I should stay away from and what different option packages are there for model years 2001-2004? I also have a set of rs6 reps 18x8.5 30mm offset wheels. Will these fit the A6 4.2?
TIA

Default If the A6 is a Sport and it comes with the fat five spoked wheels...

... let me know if you want to get rid of them.

Default You can still visit us on the allroad forum even if you defect....

The wheels "should" fit. ZCD2.7T has 30mm RS6 reps on his 2.7T and they fit fine, so I suspect they would fit in the fenderwells of the 4.2

Why a 4.2 vs a 2.7? Just curious.

Best equipped 4.2 is 2002. If you like Audi 'coz of handling, get one with sports package. Welcome.

Default Look for a sport package on the 4.2, also another positive is...

it can fit 255 size tires on it. Another choice is a 2.7T S-line. Not sure on the offset of those wheels, but 8.5" wide would fit fine on 255s.

The 02 4.2 w/ sport and premium pkgs was the best year for features. In 03 they started chipping away at the list of standard features.
Adding the sport pkg w/ the 255 tires and five spoke wheels gives the car a hunkered down look ( the sport suspension also lowers the car a little over an inch)
Good choice. This is mine at dawn on the PCH<ul><li><a href="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/33659/ojai_4.2.jpg">http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/33659/ojai_4.2.jpg</a</li></ul>
