Default Thinking of buying the Avus S4 17' wheels. I got some questions:

I have all-stock burgundy 2000 A6 2.7T

1) If I put these wheels on, is the car going to feel higher? Stock ride height, bigger wheels?
2) Are these wheels higher or lighter than stocks?
3) Do I need wheel spacers/adapters or anything? Avus wheels are afterall AUDI wheels. Only 1" bigger than stocks.
4) OEM Avus or Replicas?
5) How much do these run for these days.

PLEASE HELP

Default if you go OEM, here are a few answers...

...they will fit fine without spacers, specs are 17x7.5" ET45 offset. They clear the front HP2 calipers just fine. However, going from a 16" wheel to a 17" wheel will give the optical illusion that the car is higher becuase of the relatively smaller tire sidewall.

Here is what my former car looked like with the OEM S4 avus wheels (this is my former car nonsport 2001 2.7T):

This is what it would look like lowered (same car but now lowered with H&R coilovers...and a few more mods...)

That looks like the Audi version of Lee Majors' truck from "The Fall Guy" with that gap!

Yeah, it was high, but I never had to worry about hooking the front bumper on a curb!

Default Re: My experiences with Audi S4 17" Avus Wheels

I own a 2004 A6 Avant Quattro. One of my first mods was to replace the original Audi OEM wheels with the Avus Wheels.

1) If I put these wheels on, is the car going to feel higher? Stock ride height, bigger wheels?
>> No difference from the OEM wheels

2) Are these wheels higher or lighter than stocks?
>> These wheels were the same height at the OEM wheels

3) Do I need wheel spacers/adapters or anything? Avus wheels are afterall AUDI wheels. Only 1" bigger than stocks.
>> I did not need to use any adapter or spacers

4) OEM Avus or Replicas?
>> I researched this issue extensively and, based on the recommendations from this forum, I went with OEM wheels.

5) How much do these run for these days.
>> I paid $600 for (4) wheels and the center caps in near mint condition four years ago. I split the shipping with the seller.

I found my wheels in the AW classifieds.

I hope this information is helpful.
