We stayed on Seven-Mile Beach.
Great food, water, weather, snokeling, and diving. We stayed a a place called The Meridian. It is just a year old and it was very nice with a private beach.

It'd be pretty difficult to not have a good time there.

Anguilla is a great island for quiet beautiful beaches. 33 beaches and only a population of about 11,000. Great restaurants and friendly people. Very little poverty and crime.

Cap Juluca

Feel free to look at the other pics in the album. The first two are of Orient Beach in St. Martin so you can see the difference in how comparatively crowded it is (many chairs) there compared to Anguilla which is a 20 min ferry ride away. BTW...we hated St. Martin and wish we spent both weeks in Anguilla.
Keep in mind Anguilla is VERY uncommercialized. No high end shopping, no casinos, no americanized fast food chains (Subway is the first one there), no jetski rentals, no highrise hotels (largest is less than 100 rooms). But if you want to drive down a bumpy dirt road to reach a beach where you are the only one there all day long...this is the place.
The only downside is getting there (which is why it's not as crowded). There is nothing direct. Either fly AA through San Juan or take US Air to St. Maarten and take the public ferry, charter a private boat, or take a local, tiny Trans-Anguilla flight over.
I've been there 3 times and it is definitely getting more developed and commercial, but it still hasn't lost it's charm yet. I hope it doesn't become another Aruba. Nothing against Aruba as I've been there twice, but a very different vibe and having been to Anguilla, I will never return to Aruba.
I think Turks & Caicos is the closest in comparison to Anguilla but I've heard it is a bit more commercialized with the "Beaches" All-Inclusive resort. But if you do go there, never been but I've heard great things about Grace Bay.
