To those that commute with a manual, you're a better person than I....

Only automatic I've ever owned (except the '68 Buick), and it was a wonderful car, but I just never found it to be a thrill to drive, the shifting makes me feel much more engaged....with the demise of the A6 manual, I don't know what I'll get next time....I need the room (got out of the B5 A4 because it was too small)

I've been a big Audi fan, but I'm no longer their target market, they're heading toward being a luxury brand and I'm not that interested...I think the A5 will be my only option next time from the Audi brand....

..in heavy traffic because it allows you to be much more aggressive in traffic and have better precise control of your distance between other cars and acceleration. Now, when traffic really bogs and I have to stop a lot (as opposed to slowing down to only 5-10mph), I must admit I would start to prefer the automatic feature of the Tiptronic.

...then I only get perturbed when I see when I've managed to keep at least 0.5-1.0mph of forward momentum at all time that the bozo behind me has decided to stop completely instead of keep rolling along. Then when I start to go, the yo-yo hole develops between us, which leads to traffic staying worse instead of getting better.
