TICKING NOISE FROM ENGIN-HELP!! scondary air valve?
Since a month ago, my 2.7t(03' 25000ML) start making ticking noise from engin before it get's warm up,(it goes away after) noise is more noticable from inside of the car.
I took it to the dealer and ask to take a look, first they told me that it might be a leak from exhaust then later they told me that noise is from scondary air valve and it's uncureable, they told me they have chaged the unit before and noise always comes back so it's not worth changing it, bascically told me to live with it.
is that true? I don't know much about the car but that sounds kin'da bull ****.
please help me guys.

They sound clueless to me. The secondary air combi valves basically . . .
open along with the secondary air pump when you start the car and close like a minute later. There is no cycling involved.
One thing that does tick is the evap/purge valve which opens to allow gasoline vapor to be purged into the intake system. I've heard mine, but I really don't think you could hear it from inside the car.
More likely, I'd guess it's a heat shield or some other metal item which is moving as it expands.
The dealer should start the car when cold with the hood open and listen with something (stethoscope, length of brake line, garden hose, whatever) so that they can actually IDENTIFY what is causing the sound. The you and they can determine if it is something that needs to be fixed.
My $0.02.

it is possible
I seen two of those valves make a rattling noise but once you replace them the noise goes away
you don't have to live with it just because they don't want to fix it
