I am new to the forum and have a few questions. I have a 98 a6 2.8l, I have had good luck with it but I am now at 80,000 I am having the timing belt changed. I have recently had overheating issues (especially at idle). I replaced the fan clutch, which seemed to help with the fan running better but did not solve the overheating issue. The AC also is no longer working, tried to recharge freon along with leak plug, blew cold especially on the passenger side but only for a few hours. I called a dealership and they quoted me $800 for starters. Do any of you have a good idea of what may be the issue and if so is the quote reasonable?
Thanks

Do you think that that is the issue with overheating and AC?? Is it possible that the aux fan is effecting the overheating and AC or is it more likely to be the water pump??

It will cause all those problems. It should be on whenever your ac is on or if you're overheating, above 1/2.
