Has nyone noticed that the stock audi wheels deform way too easily. The place I have been getting replacements, and the local dealer have said that it is a very common problem with these wheels. Mine are the stock 9 spoke. Is there a better audi wheel that is less fragile? I am now looking to replace all four.

I have a little bump in my left front wheel, but I only notice it in speeds over 170km/h...![Smile](https://www.audiworld.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)

The issue is often bending vs breaking. The alloy could conceivably be made that could be heat treated and/or a diffo alloy strain hardened/forged but a pothole hit would break the wheel. Much worse to break a wheel at 80mph hitting a pothole on the PA turnpike than bending it and destroying a tire, BTDT.
Get the wheel repaired. If you don't have a local shop, Ye Ole Wheel Shoppe in Laurel MD will do it, UPS your wheel to them and they'll straighten it out and refinish it for somewhere around $120 plus shipping. 1-410-796-8400.
I've had roughly 15 wheels straightened there over the last 20 years in the DC area....

Most of the problems are with aftermarket, and usually when you are in the 18" to 19" range.
I can sympathize with Audi. Customers demand big, alloy wheels, but do not tolerate wheel damage. 16 inch wheels may not have that phat look, but they will stand up to a pothole!
