Default Tiptronic Transmission oil

Have another doubt ...........

What kind of oil uses the gear-box (tiptronic)? It is an automatic gear box, or uses the Sae 50/90 oil like the manual gear box? Need some help , I am lost in this matter.......

Thank you all

Wil

Default Good point and also a reminder that transmission fluids are..

not oil! An oil is a lubricant while transmission fluids are used to transfer energy.

Default And here's another reminder: AT fluid is "lifetime"...

...according to Audi. Of course, we've pretty much decided here that "lifetime" means something around 70K miles (max), at which point the stuff is dead, dead, dead. HPH

Good point! Any fluid which takes such an ongoing beating will deteriorate with time.

Default AT Fuild vs Gear box oil.

Egil, your point is clear.
Then I assume "oil" is in the "front differential" (distributor gear) and is not sharing the AT fluid, even if they share the same crate or seems to me that they are sharing the same crate.....

Default What's hilarious about that is that the bottle says "This product has a storage life of 3 years if

handled properly." On the "lifetime" fluid! LOL!

Right, the front diff is separate from the auto tran. Front diff takes gear oil SAE 75W90.
