I just went to get my tire plugged for a nail, and the guy at the "Certified Hankook Repair Shop" laughed and said the tires are almost worn out...I bought the Car in December, and have a little under 10,000 miles on the tires that came brand new b/c of the CPO. He said I have maybe 10,000 miles left. Can i really only expect 20,000 miles from a tire that costs almost $250 each? They are the Hankook k104's. What tires do you guys like and how many miles did you get on them?
Thanks
Chris

Incidently the Continental Cont Touring 215/55/16's I pulled of had 50% treadware remaining after 20K miles that I put on them and they were not new when I bought the car. This is a tire with a 360 AA rating with mostly highway driving and 34 psi cold. I expect the Kumho ASX 17's I put on to not last as long even thought the treadware is 420 AA as they have a higher rolling resistance. My experience has been that the wider the tire, the shorter the lifespan. My Corvette tires didn't last long at all and they were huge dinero as well. I do not remember the size.

Audi generally use tires..but it's all about the compound used, your driving style, roads and INFLATION.
I use Falken Zeix 512 for most of the year. 93.00 and I get 30k miles out of them and they handle most anything including 30 MPH turns at 60.
