Tire recommendations for my A6?
The 2001 Audi A6, that I bought in 2003, came with Continental tires:
Continental ContiTouring Contact
215/55 R 16 CH95
Radial
93H M+S
Tubeless
I live in Raleigh, North Carolina and the humidity is over the top! I do not travel often and my office is approximately 30 minutes to a downtown area. I have a newborn and want to make sure my next tire purchase is the right one. I assume radial tires would be best for the weather conditions however I would really appreciate some feedback on what may be the safest, most durable, and/or best deal. Thanks in advance.

I'm running Bridgestone Potenza RE-950s on my 3.0
215/55/16 H rated. The ride pretty smoothly, handle (brake, corner) very, very well. Excellent at higher speeds in heavy rain. Only downside is a bit more tire noise than I expected.
I don't think you would need the V rated version 155mph...I think the ride would get too harsh. Assuming your roads are better than NW PA, I think they would be a good tire.
Wear seems pretty good for 4K miles so far (outer edges of tires aren't showing abnormal wear from my driving).
I would SKIP Pirelli P6 fourseason tires. They are horrible.

more tire noise?
When I drove my wife's 325 from Costco with a set of new RE950s that replaced OEM Contis (same as A6, only 205 instead of 215), I though I had plugs in my ears. RE950 where so much quiter. I wonder if this changes after few k miles.

they were quite a bit quieter....
when new. They transmit more noise than I'd like (more than the old Michelin MXMs that were on it originally. I wondering if heat has something to do with this, as it has been in the mid 90's here (NW PA)
I think my Dunlop Wintersport M3s are quieter than the Bridgestones. We'll see if the Bridgestone's quiet down when the weather cools off a bit. Otherwise, I'm pretty happy with the tires.

Tire Rack online has more info than you could possibly need
I just went through this process for another car. I never thought it was possible to have TOO many choices and TOO much info. Dayum. I ended up with Yokohama V4Ss because I needed a V rated tire to match what was there.

Michelin or Bridgestone
We've used both , the Bridgestone G009 on a 00 30v Quattro and the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S on a 01 1.8 A4 Quattro, both are fantastic. The G009's just made a drive across the US into Canada with stunning results. I would recomend either tire. The Michelin is a bit better in road feel, wet handling, etc, but the $ reflects that.

Michelin MXV4 Plus in an H or V speed rating. The V rated tire
was the better OE tire on the A6. Manufactures put on whatever is the best deal at the time of producton, so some cars got Contis, while others Michelins. The MXV4 is a top notch, smooth, quiet, and the longest lasting all around tire I know of.
