Default Tire rotations. What is your experience with dealers?

Local dealer said Audi pays for 1 tire rotation only and the rest of them I pay for. Is this true or BS?

They said to rotate every 10,000 miles?!?!?! Are the crazy?! I thought you were suppossed to do it every 3,000 miles.

Does your dealer pay for more than one?

Thanks everyone!

Default True...

at the first service only. No way would I rotate them more frequently...pain in the *** for little gain. 10k is good enough if not overkill.

Mine did one, the next one was on me. I take it elsewhere to rotate.

I must have a great dealer - they rotate them free when I want, during a service that is.

Default Maybe with RWD BMW 3k was recommended interval

I think with Quattro tire wear is more even and the recommended 10k is sufficient. My dealer said it was included every 10k with scheduled maint.

My dealer does it when I bring it in for service.

Default True? 5k service said they only do it @ 10k. 10k service said they only do it @ 5k.

I think what they were trying to say is that I pay either way...effing Audi "service" departments... I do think that it's important to have done, as the car is so nose-heavy (but not as important as on a nose-heavy front wheel drive car).

I did tell them the scenario, and they just ignored me, so rather than call them liars and then get really screwed on my next trip, I paid. They said that usually it's $85 or $55 (can't remember), but "for you we only charge $39.99."

Sometimes you get a win-win, sometimes a lose-lose. I think I'm just jinxed in the dealer-service department and can only hope that my next car will throw back a little of this bad karma (sp?). Either that, or I, I, I, come back, I burn this place down....

Default Remember reading in manual, tire warranty or maintenance that AoA covers *one time.*

Search for it, it's in there....or could it be in the TT books?
