Default Tires for 2001 A6 4.2

Im looking for a recomendation for tires (All Season)for my 2001 A6 4.2. I drive about 150 miles per day mostly highway and hate road noise. Tire size is 255/40-17 for that vehicle.I'm down to Yokahama ADVAN S.4. or Toyo Proxis 4......Any feedback would be greatly appreciated or any thoughts on other tires I havent evaluated. Thanks Dick

Default I am a BIG fan of thePirelli PZeroNero M&S tires...

although the ones on my car right now are 255/35/18. I find that they are quiet, do not flatspot that badly, have good grip in all sorts of weather (although I run dedicated snows on my stock 17" wheels). Another popular choice is the Conti ExtremeContact.

Check out the tires at www.tirerack.com

Happy shopping!!!

I had Yoko AVS on my 4.2, hated them, noisy, then got Falken's and they were great for the $.

Default Falken Ziex ZE-512 and Continental ContiExtreme Contact shold be on the list.

If you live in an area that doesn't get much snow, the General Exclaim UHP are the #1 rated Ultra High Performance Summer tire at Tire Rack but they are actually an all season tire.

If you get snow more than just occassionally, the ContiExtremes are best for snow. Also have a good ride and don't seem noisy to me.
