No one seems to have responded over at the C6 forum - does anyone here know if you can fit a 245/45-17 inch tire on the Avus rim? This was the one used on the previous S4 (the 2.7 twin turbo). Not concerned so much with the clearance, but more with the width of the rim as I'n not sure whether it is a 7 or 7.5. Thanks

I'm running this size on S-6 Avus (17"x8") on my 02 2.7t with no problems.

Russell - is this the same rim on the S4? Thought that it was 7/7.5 and not 8

The S6 wheel is 17x8 with different offset than the S4 wheel.

They are both "Avus" Rims, but different sizes.
Please note there is also an 18x8.0 Avus rim for the B6 S5.

Recommended tire size for S4 rim is 235/45/17
Size for S6 rim is 255/40/17 but I have seen 245/45/17's on them, though they look a bit tall - might be a squeeze for the smaller width of the S4 rim but I'm sure they will fit.

I'll be putting the 245/45 17 on the new C6 as the std size on the car is 225/55 16. Have to match the circumference, and love my avus rims.
