Default Have you asked on the VAG forum?

It is about the easiest recode unless something in the SW is not right.

I've done several re-codes, it has done different things each time. Your issue doesn't surprise me.

Default What year is your A6? I couldn't recode my '02 A6 4.2 either until I upgraded my Ross-Tech cable...

to their Hex-com version. Check out the Ross-Tech website for details.

The older/original version of the Ross-Tech VAG cable (mine was from AWE-tuning) did not support all of the functions. Once I upgraded to the new Hex-Com cable, everything functioned as advertised on their website.

Hope this helps.

Andre

Default Try trans coding without running the engine...

It won't accept the code if the engine is running.
