Default toll transponder update

Yet another update in the toll transponder saga, for anyone that cares.

Mounting the license plate transponder in front of the lower grille and below the license plate (a good gap of 2 inches) does not work.

Bummer.

So lets review.

Inside the lower grille does not work.

Below the license plate in a non-obvious place does not work.

I'm currently testing a higher mounting point - behind the upper grille, at the bottom of the grille.

So far so good.

Default seems to work in this pic....S4 in Boston. I'll probably mount mine here.

Default Lee-since they tell us to mount the transponder up high in our windshield, i wonder if the

"receptivity direction" (if I may coin a term) is high - especially conisdering that it has to include trucks and buses with their transponders mounted up high in their windshields.

Just a thought...

Teddy-thanks for the offer, I think with the new wheels I'll get new caps. Appreciate the offer.

That's roughly where mine is currently, except it's ziptied to the grille rather than to the radiator wall.
