That was a crime of passion if I've ever heard one!!
File a police report, have you mech keep any and all parts, take pictures if you can of the damage to the car, the 'crime scene', and any oil/hardware in the lot. Also, and notify whoever owns the lot (Best Buy)..talk to a manager, not a kid behind the customer service desk).
What scares me the most is that whoever did that knew that the oil would only leak a little until the engine was running. Again, definetly premeditated and malicious! So soory to see anyone going through this, I hope they get thiers in due time.
Oh, and don't EVER let a tow truck driver tow a quattro without at least a dolly under the rear wheels.

Yes, but this would call attention to yourself (bashing car with hammer). Putting sugar in
the gas tank or puncturing oil filter is very sneaky and likely to do more extensive damage. Incredibly nasty vandals, IMO. File Police report for sure. This is very upsetting. Just be glad they didn't cut your brake line.
