im going to look at it tommorow.
I love my A8 but I'm worried about buying another Audi due to the weird stuff. Don't get me wrong, but I want a car that I don't have to worry about for awhile, not dump money into it each year. Stuff like the trans issues and control arm issues are making my descision even harder.

I paid 21.9k for one with similar mileage (28k -- I definitely wanted to go low mileage) that was quite a bit better equipped (check my signature).
This one does NOT have the cold weather package. If you look at the pic for the dash console, you'll see that there are no seat heaters -- a dead give-away. That's probably something you'll want in CO so you may want to keep looking. I'm also a big fan of the sports package, but they are a bit tougher to find so that may narrow your options a bit. Many people do suspension work to achieve similar performance to the sport package, but you'd still have the standard seats (I love the sport seats).
I'm very pleased with my 01 and the 2.7T is a blast to drive. You may want to check the date of manufacture (found on a sticker located on the driver's side B pillar). DOMs prior to 10/00 (or so) may have the smaller oil lines that some people will tell you to avoid. I didn't find out I had them (my DOM is 4/00) until after I purchased, but have been reassured that if I follow good turbo owner practices I have nothing to worry about. So, I wait until the oil temp is above 175 before driving hard (RPM above 3300) and cool down for several minutes before shutting down the engine after hard driving. Turbo failure is pretty rare unless you chip it (i.e., modify if with an aftermarket turbo controller chip) and drive if recklessly. I don't plan on doing either so I'm not worried.
Other than that, the 2002's are supposed to be quieter due to heavier glass, but with my custom iPod installed, I can RARELY hear the wind noise (
). I was looking at both 01s & 02s, but opted for the one I bought because of the sports package, low mileage, and price combo. VERY happy with the purchase I've made.
Finally, I'd encourage you to surf here before buying but understand that, in the end, it's your ride and you have to go with your heart. If you're well prepared by doing your homework (check out the links in my signature) you'll have given your brain the workout you should. After that, logic turns off and you go with your gut.
Good luck!

I think you can do better, but you may have to expand your search radius.
I think you should be able to find a good condition 2001 2.7T for around 16-18k with CPO, depending on equipment and miles. I sold my 2001 2.7T back in January with 67k miles (non-sport, but otherwise loaded) for 17k, and the CPO transferred to the new owner.
In the end, you will know when you find the right one.
Happy hunting!

...the tranny might act a little wierd. If it does, dont buy. If it doesnt, change tranny oil in the next few k's miles up to 36-38k, i would say, and than keep on changing it every 30-40k, and you should be fine. GIAC TRANNY chip will deffinitelly help you. Im trying to schedule an appointment for next week to change tranny oil and install GIAC tranny chip. ![Smile](https://www.audiworld.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Im at 83k now. Minor issues only. Brake sensor, turn signal, some maintenance...otherwise perfect! Would never change for E320, 530i and especially all those Camry's, Accords..! They look at me and say, yeah, that car looks Fine! I mean others just look at you from underneath...u know? Deffinitelly get heated seats, you in collorado, man!
Good luck! And a 2.7T would not dissapoint you!
P.S. You might as well look at the 6sp.

Thanks for the info, yeah the trans issue Iv delt with with the A8, not bad, but audi needs to change their view on lifetime sealed fluid.......Heated seat are not there huh. Do the A6's have the whole cold/hpt weather packages like the A8's? I love the dual paned glass and the fresh air vent that keeps the car cool during the summer months, A6's don't have this feature Im assuming.
