I have a '98 A6Q which just turned 90,000 Kms. which is approximately 54,000 miles. I went to an indie to have the tranny fluid changed with all the necessary filters gaskets etc... (Dealer wanted double what the indie shop wanted!) I was told it may take an hour or so. I stepped away and returned about 45 mins later and was told once everything was apart the tranny looked in good shape as well the fluid was in very good condition!! The mechanic was on the fence about changing the fluids as most of the time once the job is done it wasn't really necessary. He has had only two Audis where the fluid came out looking poorly! BTW - the filter was in great shape too! All said and done - fluids, gaskets, filter etc... $300.00.
