I went to dealership this morning and they told me that since my Audi has 96K miles it is not recommended to change transmission fluid on this high milage. When I called them 2 yrs ago, they said that transmissions are sealed so change of fluid is not needed at all, but if I want I could do it at 100K. That's why I waited so long. Now they are not recommending change at high milage. I know this was a case for US cars (ford, etc), but not for Audi too. I do not have any appearent problems with my transission, but wanted it to last longer. I doubt it has been changed ever before. Any advice? Should I still proceed with a change of fluid, or it is really not recommended?
Thanks

On the other hand, manual for '02 325i that has similar ZF tiptronic calls for a fluid change at 100k.
So it's more a matter of religion

When I had my pickup serviced at 80K, the transmission specialty shop recommended a fluid change to synthetic (Mobil1). The tranny had never been serviced (GM 4L80E). So far so good after 10K of severe (towing) service.
The same thing might be true of Audi. If the tranny is in good shape then a fluid change might be OK. But if it's about ready to break a fluid change won't save it.

a virtual guarantee that it will fail. ZF says it needs to be changed and I think they should be the best judge of the care and feeding of the tip.

and will dissolve some of deposits. You don't want to run this in your tranny. So change it again after some time, like 1000 Miles.
