Anyone know how often this should be done (if ever)? I'm bringing the A6 to the indy next week for a torn CV boot repair, and an oil change. I have 97k miles on the car, should I consider having a transmission fluid flush/change done at the same time?

I know there is synthetic oil in the transmission, but I would be fairly comfortable with a 50k change interval. Might as well have it done. I doubt there would be much labor...1/2 hr prob.

about the manual tranny fluid 'till 120-150K. Also did the rear diff at the same time as the tranny...fluid there also looked great!
The tip tranny should have a fluid change at much sooner intervals...50-60K maximum.
It's easy to do, and not expensive. While up on the lift you might consider replacing the fuel filter.

Good question - I've a MT box with 97k on the clock.
I've not noticed any probs with the transmission but wondered whether the fluid needed changing but was advised by an Audi dealer and also an independant that the fluid should be good for 150k miles.
However, some people on this board hace recommdned that a CVT/MT box should be changed every 30k miles !?
I've also heard of people having transmission failures AFTER changing the fluid so I have abit of a dilema - Do I stick with Audi's advice and hope nothing fails (Very expensive repair on a MT) or do I get the fluid changed which may lead to an extended life....but possibly an early failure?!
Hmmm......I'm inclined to leave things be unless I start to notice any issues.
