I had a post here last month, that my transmission went into limp mode and the fault code was - 17114 "gear ratio monitoring: incorrect gear ratio" then P0730-35-10. So I take it into my local dealer and give them the fault codes and explain what occurs when the car goes into limp mode. I get the car back 6 hours later, with a $128 bill letting me know that they could not find anything wrong with the car. Two days later, It happens again and now more frequently. I take it in again, they replace the Multi function switch,(p/n 01L-919-821) for $773. Pick it up and on my way home, bingo happens again. (slow moving upshift from 1st to second, no throttle- bang, clang= limp mode. turn car off, and it is fine)
Now they talk like they are all confused, and I am to bring the car back in on Wed 5/3. Anyone have any thoughts?
thanks,

generally speaking AoA for warranty does not let dealrs do tranny work. Depending on the codes, they swap out the tranny under warranty..
I asked my dealer why this is done and they said the generally AoA does not trust the average dealer to work on let alon diagnose their trannies in a competnat way. Yes, its a genralization.
But its a clue...go to a ZF independent tranny shop.
Get your $ back.

... to go see the local dealer (Rockville Audi). Dealer says the transmission is fine. I say, "Really? How 'bout a trade in?" I get a TT Roadster for the wife. Three weeks later, the dealer calls, moaning that the A6 tranny is bad, and he needs to know which indy shop worked on it.

... required Haldex fluid change for the TT. Manual requires change at 30K miles. Service rep said it's not required therefore not covered by maintenance plan. Stupid or lying?

There are many, many posts in D2 A8 on the topic.
I wouldn't begin to type my complete thoughts on this, too extensive.
Personally, if it hasn't had a service, I'd do a trans service per Audipages, with a bottle of red Lubegard added. If that doesn't do it, I might do it one more time, and then bite the bullet and do a trans rebuild.
Dealers typically don't know how to troubleshoot transmissions, all they know how to do is replace parts.
