The latest TrueDelta Vehicle Reliability Survey results have been posted. These are for the year ending September 30, 2007.
For the 2001 Audi A6, I have an average of 4.1 months of data on 15 cars, the bare minimum for a non-asterisked result. The stat of 177 successful repair trips per 100 vehicles per year (1.8 per vehicle) is quite a bit worse than average for a 2001 model.
For the 2002 Audi A6, I have an average of 5.5 months of data on 11 cars, just enough for an asterisked result based on the number of months of data. The stat of 100 successful repair trips per 100 vehicles per year (1.0 per vehicle) is about average for a 2002 model.
Because of the low sample sizes, these results are probably best understood together: the actual repair rate is probably lower than 177 for the 2001 and higher than 100 for the 2002.
Results will be updated every three months. I'd like to include additional model years and get rid of the asterisks, but this will require more participants.
Everyone who has been helping out with this research, thanks, I literally couldn't have done it without you. Those who aren't yet helping out, I hope you'll consider doing so. Larger sample sizes would make future results much more precise.
