Trunk Release Button
#2
My worst fear.
Dang that is one expensive button. Maybe try a junk yard? If you can't find an A6 that has one, maybe search for an older model that might have an equivalent. Radio Shack (wouldn't be OEM, but I figure it should work - switch just completes the circuit, right)?
So if the trunk release is bad, now you have to use the remote or release on the decklid?
I've always wondered what would happen, if the actual solenoid/motor that unlocks inside the trunk to let it open, were to cease functioning. Then you would really have a problem. Why do german auto manufacturers do this? Most other cars I have seen have some kind of spring/lever to open the trunk with no motors to break. Anyone understand this logic?

Did it just pop out one day? If so, I have a cheap fix for you . . .
just take the spring out and put the button back in. I've been running that way for some time and the button stays put and works perfectly.
Poor Audi plastic is to blame. Been that way as long as I can remember (almost 20 years now)
