Turn Signal Problem

Turn Signal Problem
Hello, I bought a 2002 Audi A6 about 3 months ago and recently I have been experiancing a problem with my turn signals. Some times they don't turn on, some times they turn on and flash in weird intervals and then turn off, and some times (rarely) they work fine. The 4-way flasher works fine, and all of the other controls on the stick that controls the turn signals work fine. What could the problem be?
Thanks,
Darko

Re: Do a search for "hazard relay switch" it's probably your problem. Easy fix.
Would this be the part I most likely needed: http://www.autopartswarehouse.com/details/QQAudiQQA6QQOE_ServiceQQHazard_Flasher_SwitchQQ199 82004QQW0133-1735603.html
And my hazard lights flash fine, its just the turn signal, so could this still be the solution?

The signal light relay is combined in the Hazard light switch assembly...
being that your turn signal is not working your hazard lights will still work it's a fail safe system designed into the car.
Go to the dealership an get a new switch assembly P/N 4B0-941-509-D-B98 cost is under $25 bucks.

As JetTech said, go to the dealer for this part...
It's not worth the time and hassle to chase parts this inexpensive on the net. His part # is correct, the new switch will include the triangular hazard button. The one in your link does not look right, and is the wrong pt.#.
Carefully remove the trim piece around the hazard button, and pull the switch out. If its very tight, pop off the plastic triangle, and you'll be able to get a better grip with needle nose pliers. Unhook the connector (don't let it slip back into the hole!) and clip on the new one. Push it back in, put the trim piece back on and you're done.
90% of the time, this fixes the problem (I made that number up), if it does't, it's probably your turn signal stalk. It's worth the gamble though as you have the classic symptoms of a busted switch.
Koz.
