Turn signals stuck on...
The turn signals on my 98 A6 have been acting up. They started occasionally getting stuck on (the turn signal would come on, but would stay on and not blink). If you toggled the switch back and forth, eventually it would start blinking. Now, they just remain solid all the time whenever you use the switch.
What is the cause of this problem? Do I need a new stalk cluster or a turn signal relay? If it's the relay, where is the relay located?
The problem seemed to start when I took the instrument cluster out to try and rebuild the LCD.

It's most likely the relay. The good news it, it can be easily repaired if you can either source another dead piece, or any similar flasher module like the one on the board.

Or, you can replace the whole relay.

That I do not know. What I did was take apart a second unit, and use the flasher from the hazard light side. It works GREAT. I suppose one could easily swap their hazard flasher relay over to the turn signal side. Of course, that would leave you with no hazards..
I would imagine that the flasher should be able to be found, but I'm not keen on what to look for or where.

I checked, and my hazards have the same problem as my flashers - they get stuck on. On the few occasions they start to work, my flashers also work.
Does this still sound like bad relays or another problem? I was led to believe that if the flasher module was bad it was because one of the relays had failed and the other one would still work. It seems unlikely that both would fail simultaneously and exhibit the same intermittent operation patterns.
