No fusion involved, just rust.

Lithium grease has worked well here, also use it on the lug nuts.

Default Can you get it to hold air at all? Pump it up, quickly get to the nearest tire place,

and let them worry about it.

Default I did get the tire removed, thanks for all of the suggestions.

Audi needs to include a old rusty hammer in the jack kit.

Btw, I read the manual after I ran into difficulty. It described a cool deflatable tire and compressor combo. To my dismay, only a full size spare.

Default Spray PB Blaster

Wait 30 minutes and kick tire. Spray disc with brake cleaner. When remount tire, brush on some antiseize compound to wheel/disc interface.

I've always used careful aim and a two by four. Seriously.

Believe it or not are used CLR and it worked like a charm

But with all of my effort I am unable to budge the wheel. I even inadvertently dropped the car on it (the jack come out with one of my frustrated kicks).

The tires were change about 18 months ago by a VW dealer. Is it possible some adhesive was attached?

Any suggestions?

Your wheels are aluminum or an aluminum alloy. When an aluminum part is in tight contact with steel (the hub) and then add in a little salt or other caustic like magnesium chloride (pre-treat for snow on the highway) it cause electrolysis. This creates an oxidation to form similar to rust and will bind things up. Glad the CLR worked for you. I have had to pound wheels off before using a soft dead-blow hammer or kick them off from under the car (make sure the car is securely jacked up and won't fall on you). Regardless, a good healthy shot or jolt usually will break them free. Common problem on alloy wheels.
