Upgrading from '01 2.7T to '03. Wheel question...
Hello all. I am about to trade up to 2003 2.7T from my current 2001. I purchased Oettinger RE (17 inch) wheels and want to keep them for the new car. I did a search and found info regarding change in brakes from '01 2.7T to '03 and am concerned that the Oettingers may not fit. Whats the story? I hear '02 2.7 T brakes were "downgraded" and assume 03 are similar if not identical to '02s. The Oettingers fit my '01 without spacers. Wil they fit the 03's. Also, I understand that 03s come with fake spare as opposed to my (non-sport) 01 which came with a 16 inch 5 spoke wheel mounted on stock Contis. Dealer said I could keep my 01 spare and substitute doughnut of 03. Will this wheel fit?
Thanks in advance.
Thanks in advance.

Should be no problem...but about the brakes
I posted questions about the "downgrading" of the brakes when the specs. for 2002 first came out. I have been checking out specs. of 00/01 vs. 02/03 and according to what I can find the rotors are 321mm for the 02/03 which is the same as 00/01 according to one source I found. The calipers are different for sure but I would like to get a more detailed comparison between the two. Anybody know more??

Re: Should be no problem...but about the brakes
The 01 had the HP-2 brakes, same as still used on the 4.2 (I think). 2 pads per side, 4 per caliper. The 02 has only 2 (larger) pads on each caliper, and I have not found a single source of aftermarket pads yet! May have to spring for the Stoptechs just to get different pad compounds.
Any other words of wisdom would be appreciated. I do NOT want to track it with stock pads!
