99 A6 quattro 114k miles. Bad squeeking coming from driver front. Find dust boots ripped on one upper control arm and the tie rod end ball joint. Passenger side looks fine.. looks like the arms have been replaced recently.
I search for prices.. OEM wholesale is $80 for the "front" UCM and $225 for the "rear" UCM. Even though both upper control arms are in the front of the car, they refer to them as "front" and "rear"??
I look on ebay, I find a front set for $89 "japanese aftermarket".. are these any good? The link is below.
Here is a photo of my suspension.. any tips on this job? Thanks!

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=33583&item =7969879941&rd=1&am

...to shops. The kit includes all eight control arms, tie rod ends, c-clips, and new hardware (nuts/bolts). Ask your local wrench about it. HTH.
