VAG question.... my cel was on a few days ago...but now its off

Default VAG question.... my cel was on a few days ago...but now its off
i must have started the car 5 times which i believe turns the cel off?

a friend came over with a vag and this was the data showing : 17584 (p1176) unknown trouble code.
does anyone know what this means? maybe just a misfire?

i'm not familier with the vag software or cel. could there have been another stored code thats goes away when the cel shuts off? TIA.. john

Hmm. Could that relate to a loose gas cap or similar issue?

No, this code indicates slow/bad O2 sensor(s), AFAIK

2.7t john has the RS4 precats, which may be the reason why he threw the code
