"the failure is typically due high oil pressures at engine startup" This is not correct.
The gasket between the head and the adjuster is very durable and leaks there are very rare. The real problem is that the half moon rubber seal that sits below the gasket shrinks and allows oil to weep out the gap. It's a low pressure leak that can be amplified by a blocked PVC system which allows pressure in the block to build.
