re: 2001 2.7T TIP tranny

I'm having my tranny dropped and getting the torque converter fixed. It was throwing an engine code.

So while my tranny is out, the tranny specialist as me if I wanted to get the valve body done as well? He said it'll make the car feel sportier and the shifting between gears will be a bit faster, because they'll replace the old springs and etc. with new and stiffer springs and etc.

Anyone got their VB rebuilt before? How does it feel? DO you like it? If the shifting between gears is fast, do you like it? DO you loose the smooth factory shifting? I hate it when you feel gears shift in an automatic tranny.

I had my VB replaced with one from Level10. It was terrible. Not much to notice in the upshifting, but my downshifting was terribly rough. I would not recommend playing around with this part. You can screw it up easily and it will cost you $900+ for a new one.

I threw in a Tip Chip from Dahlback and it helped speed up the gear changing when in Tip mode.

The TC is a good upgrade tho.
