Hi everyone,
I'm new to the forum and just purchased a 1999 A6 2.8 Quattro with 72,000 miles. When I turn my wheels sharply and move forward slowly from a dead stop, I experience what seems like a vibration in the wheels. Once I am moving at a reasonable speed and turn sharply, there is no vibration in the wheels. I have new tires. Any ideas about what is causing the vibration?
Thanks.

Basically it is a slight binding of the powertrain. Cars with mechanical center diffs like the Torsen equipped Audi, will display this more so than some other AWD systems. Mechanical systems generally react much faster since they are always engaged and under some load, but this is a trade-off of those types of systems. No harm is done.

Thanks for the info. Never owned a car this complex. Good to know that it is nothing serious.
