Default Want to change quirky chrome mirrors on S6. [No, don't actually have it... yet.]

I have yet another Audi newbie question for the initiated. Can I change the side view mirrors on my S6 to same stye, in matching paint? Is it just a covering, or does the entire thing have to be swapped out? While some may find this odd feature endearing, my goal is to rid this bad oscar of all unnecessary brightwork. [I'll bet it's a good target for Lidar too.] tia

Default Lasers like flat areas...don't care too much about shiny-ness...

It might be tough to find Goodwood mirrors since no other car comes in Goodwood and all S6s come with brushed aluminum/chrome. I don't know about Europe, though, if their S6s come with chrome standard or body colored.

They have shells to them, so the whole mirror doesn't need to be replaced.

Perhaps the best best would be to get some unpainted covers and get them painted to match.

Well, I've seen an earlier example of a Goodwood S6 Avant, and it definitely had painted mirrors. Thnx for the tip, I'll see about getting a pair of mirror shells and painting them to match.

SRS (Indiana):

Check with avdh (SA), I believe he had the choice, either painted or polished alum/chrome (whatever).

Or, you can check with Ralf at www.theracestore.com. He had direct connection to the German OEM Audi/Porsche parts.
