organized by Big ***** and the Brotherhood of Street Races. Big ***** and his crew used to organize street races at various locations in So Cal. Big ***** and his wife both had those big Dodge Daytonas with those huge wings.
We used to meet in a parking lot in Pomona, CA, which just happens to be home of the NHRA Winternationals. People would walk around, chat, check out cars and set up races. Some even brought cars on trailers.
Once Big ***** decided, we would all head out usually to Ontario CA to the backside of where the Ontario Motor Speedway once stood. It was still fairly new at that time.
Anyway, the streets back there had been improved so they were real wide and long and straight and flat. The Speedway was there but not much else back then so it was pretty empty real late at night.
The Street Racers crew already had the 1/4 mile marked with paint stripes and they would bring out the starting lights (yes just like the real deal), cars would line up and we would go at it.
Back then I was driving a '69 GTO Judge. It could move pretty good and I won a few and lost a few.
Sorry this is so long but 'Yes' I have street raced before.

I am a AARP member (truth). I guess I never grew out of the 60's/70's car stuff. Glad I grew out of the other stuff of that era.

sounds like back in the day also but I was in Florida with a Trans Am 455 H0 with fairly crude but effective nitrous system. Today I love the HP you can get with electronics.
