Default well i got a new dr side door blade from Shokan... 2 problems. help needed

first of all... the door blade i got in the mail from Shokan still has the broken off screw in the hole... WTF? now i have to go out and buy an easy out or drill the damn thing out and risk fvcking up the threads inside... this seems a little ridiculous. i knew i was buying a used part so the scratches and chips in the paint, which there are many of, are fine with me (my car has 115K miles anyway so it will fit right in) but to leave a broken off screw in the hole seems like they just didnt give a **** and sent it out anyway...

also, in attempting to remove the door blade from my car i managed to break the head off of one screw and strip the other... any suggestions on how to approach this? TIA

Default Typical

Where are the broken off heads? Can you get to them with a Dremel and cut a new slot or just cut them right off?

the blade i got from Shokan has one screw still in it, with the head sheered off. and on my car one has the head sheered off and the other i might be able to get out by cutting a flat-head slot...

Call Shokan...they've taken back bad parts for me. No questions asked.

Default it was a $40 part so i dont want to pay to ship it back and fourth...

but a reimbursement of, say, the price of an easy out and a tap would be nice... im probably going to call them tmrw

Default You may want to soak it in some WD40 or something to loosen it up

usually when a screw is sheared, it is jammed. so soaking it in something first will help loosen it up.

On my A4 I slapped 2 of 4 without the screw, they never budged.
