Were the pre-Onstar Telematics (2002) S6 Avants prewired for any type of phone...analog or otherwise

Curious if the standard Voice Activated Analog system was still pre-wired. Or if no wiring was provided whatsoever.
Thanks

Dunno for sure if those are different, but my Bose 99.5 avant has a phone system that functions the same (prewired) as in your A8. I used PaulW's instructions.
'02 may have had wiring changes, prior to that I'd be surprised if it were any different than my car and your A8.
Note the non-Bose cars are wired a little different.

Thanks Sarge... Even though I use SPRINT PCS most of the time via portable cell...I frequently find I get better service (availability) with my "analog" Voice Activated phone - standard equipment in my 98 A8.
I live in a metropolitan area (Northern VA) but work in Great Falls, VA where cell phone towers are not very popular. Seems the analog system has more repeaters or just better locations for those fringe areas...also I think the 3 watt integrated analog phone may have something to do with it too.
I wish Audi made it more clear on what the standard equipment was on early production S6 vs. stating V60 Digital/Telematics Delayed Availability. It makes it seem that the early models came with nothing.
If someone here owns an early 2002 S6 Avant it would be nice to know what you really have.
Take care - Frank

I'm using the integrated OEM antenna and B-pillar speaker w/ the Motorola supplied mic.
It all works quite well, fully integrated to the stereo, etc.
Any reason you don't want a tri-band phone that covers you no matter where you are? You can also integrate kits from other manufacturers into the car system. It's just a matter of tapping the correct wires.
THat is assuming it works the same in the '02. If not, it's just a matter of sorting out the wires.
Good luck with it. Good phone solutions are hard to come by, and oh so important if you use it much...
