Default Wet passenger footwell - resolved! And kudos to The Village Glassmith!

I've had an ongoing water problem in my '99 A6. All drains work fine.

Turns out the cowl trim was not properly mounted. On the right side, it had worked out of the channel in the windshield trim. Water was running down the windshield, under the cowl trim and into the cabin filter housing. Why don't they have a lid on that filter, like they do on the C4 A6?

Anyway, Donny Cotton from the Village Glassmith just installed a new windshield and properly set the cowl trim back into the retaining channel.

I do not expect to have any further water problems. Fingers crossed!

By the way, he installed an insulated windshield, on my request. I'm curious to find out whether it has a negative effect on my V1 radar/laser performance or on my EZ Pass...

I've mentioned Donny before on these forums. If you need a windshield replaced, and you're in the Boston area, he's the guy. He knows Audis, he makes sure not to scrape the paint under the windshield when he removes the old glass, he primes the entire area to ensure no rust, and he does neat, quality work.

He's replaced 6 or 8 windshields for me over the years.

Highly recommended!
