Default Wew! Almost toasted one of my wheels...Hartmann DTM testimony.

Late last night, tired, on my way home from dinner with the family I clipped a low curb making a left hand corner. I about freaked when it happened. I'm usually very good about making left handers nice and deep to ensure a good exit past the apex ;-) but not this time.

Anyway, the Hartmann DTM's didn't blink an eye. I have confirmed they are a strong wheel!

No vibrations, dents or dings!

Thats is all...

Default Hartmans tend to be pretty strong.. My 17" RS4 reps have taken a pounding...

and only have very slight bends.

Default heh, i skidded on dry surface at low speed, banged the entire side

Driving in city, approaching intersection at about 15mph, see an open spot to make a left turn, tap the accelerator and turn the wheel - the entire car turns yet skids sideways and hits the curb, first the front right wheel, followed by rear.

I have stock 8-spoke rims (non-sport 4.2). The front wheel has a really bad case of curb rash, the rear wheel is better, but nothing broke off.

Once I hit a curb with my rear wheel in an older audi (1993 Audi 100 CS quattro), and a quarter of the disk broke off at much lighter impact.

I can attest that stock wheels are very strong.

Default With the power you're putting down, you probably crushed that curb into oblivion.

If only it were as easy to smash bad ammendments.

When's the last time you went on track? Did you say you were taking a break for a while? Any withdrawl symptoms?

Default I'm suprised that your family did not comment...

...all that track time and you can't keep your wheels on public roads??? :^D

Glad there was no damage.
