What a difference pulling the 605 relay makes!
I was perusing the tech articles yesterday and came across the servotronic steering article. I have been wishing that my 4.2 had a better steering feel than it did, thus I pulled the 605 relay for the over boosted steering. Incredibly easy to get to and an incredible difference. I have owner many Bimmers over the last decade and the one thing they always had in common whether it was a 2002, a 7 series or 5 series was the incredible feedback and feel of the steering. Well with the relay pulled on the Audi, the steering is now in the same ballpark as the Bimmers. The Bimmers still win hands down, but now the Audi gives some good competition. With the relay pulled you get tremendous feedback from the road, you can feel what the tires are doing, you can feel the slip angle alot better, you can feel the weight of the car, etc... The steering is now more in line with the engine power, suspension, weight of the car.
While I was at it, I changed the Bose Symphony system EQ settings in my car and WOW what a difference that made. I liked the sound system before, this puts it over the top. Now it feels like I'm in a different car!

no need for a lift... the 605 relay is just under the driver side knee bolster
remove the 5 screws and drop the knee bolster, then yank out the relay labeled "605"... its staring you in the face.
thr hidden EQ setting only apply to the early model C5 with the symphony 1 head unit. if you have a pre-facelift car just follow this post (see below) and if you car is post-facelift there are no hidden EQ settings on you head unit... better luck next time

hidden EQ settings
