Default 2nd; you've probably just lost some HP. ....

There's a reason the stock system positions the intake at the front of the engine bay--cooler air. With your setup now, all you're going to do is take in hot air, which holds less oxygen per volume, which equals less power.

Default Prolly why he put all sorts of shields around it, to help keep hot air to min. (I count at least 2 )

In fact, that could almost pass as stock if he would put the "triangle" top piece back on. I see no problem with the setup as he has it. Same effect as stock intake, just a diff. approach. Mine was somewhat similar, and I experienced no probs. with it at all.

Default ahh, didn't see the shields... still, if he wants it to be effective, he needs to fully box out...

the hot air and create a channel by which only colder air can get to the filter. As it is, the shields don't seem to be tall enough to contact the underside of the hood, so all you've got is a 3-sided box with no lid. The hot engine air can still easily get around the shields.
