Default I like 'em ..........

I have not driven one, but the same principles apply that make the 3 series more fun to drive than the 5 series, irregardless of the engine under the hood. Obviously, the A6 is a larger and heavier car than the A4. And thusly no A6 can feel like an A4 (not even an S6). That is not a bad thing. The A6 is not supposed to be like the A4 and the A6 is not supposed to be like the A8 either.

I did the same thing (downsizing) in a roundabout way and am much happier. I loved my A6 4.2, but it frankly was not much fun to drive the way I like to drive. I thought I was ready for a larger more comfortable and usefull car, but I was not. It is a personal thing. My neighbor has no use for a car like mine. His perfect ride is his E Class. He is aspiring to something larger and we are the same age! So go get what you like. And from I have read, the new A4 is pretty stellar. In fact, the forethcoming S4 sounds almost more intriguing than my car!

I have an 02' M3. But I had an 01' 330i with sport package and manual before it. The M3 sorta' fell in my lap. My 00' 4.2 was totaled at my place of business when a 53' butter truck drove over it's nose. Not pretty.

I loved it. I liked it better than the previous A4. The new A4 was still off on the horizon when I ordered the 330. I've been meaning to to go look at new A4 but have not yet done so. The C Class is not as "sporty" even with the sport package. It does feel "Mercedes-like" but they are having some serious quality control issues at the moment. Read the Wall Street Journal's Marketplace from two days ago.

I am a rear wheel drive man who is an all-wheel drive convert. I like them both. There are situations where I like rear drive better and situations where I like all wheel drive better. Tough decision.

Default The A4 is great, however apart from being smaller than the A6, there is a certain comfort and luxury

feel which the A4 does not have. It's a bit like sitting in a luxury lounge with hyper comfortable couches. The A6 oozes comfort and quality to an extent the A4 does not.

An 3.0 A4 manual would certainly be more involving and more fun to drive.

What about an A6 3.0Q Manual?
