Let me rephrase that.
For those that have the motorized steering wheel adjustment, when you shut off the car, what does your telescoping steering wheel do? Does it go in and up? Or does it go in an down?

When the key is removed, the power steering column goes up and in to get out of the way for exit from and entry to the car. Once the key is on again, the steering column will come down and back out. It has memory position, tied to the seat position memory, and the key (if you programmed the key to be paired to a seat position).
Of course, it won't do that if you use the small "stop" button, in which case it will remain in place.

You can just move the mirror **** to the centered position and it will not aim down when you back up. That feature is to allow a person to parallel park and not scrape the curb, and only does that when the mirror **** is in the right mirror adjustment position, and the car is in reverse.
Just center the ****, and the mirror will no longer move.
