Default what oil to use for 2.7T ... it's currently 52 degrees in Seattle...so basically my question is...

when it's cold what weight oil should i use and when it's warm what should i use?

I think the consensus is 0-30 or 0-40 synthetic. Seattle never gets cold enuff to matter.

Mobil 1 synthetic? I read an article on stoney's faqs that mobil 1 oil leaks more whats the dealio?

That's wrong. Mobil addresses that issue in the FAQ section at mobil1.com

Default You think 52 degrees is COLD???

Teasing...I lived there. A wet 52 degrees there can feel like 20 in the midwest. In Seattle's climate, theres no need to worry about aummer and winter oil. Stick with the 0W30 per Audi recommendations. Actually, there aren't many places in the US except Alaska where seasonal oil is a real concern at all unless your still using single weight oil.

I did a TON of research and am now buying AMSOIL - Been Loyal to Mobil1 for Many years though.

Default haha i'm from california so 52 is cold to me hahah no i'm kidding.. 52 is too warm for jan for me..i

love to ski and when it's that warm that usually means the mountains are warm..and yes it's raining at all the local ski areas here. DAMN! thanks for the rec...i'll stick with 0W-30 synthetic.. mobil 1 or amsoil... i like mobil..not for any particular reason except their company image hahaa.. i'm a consumer *****.

Does anyone use Castrol Syntec? Was told that it was what the factory installed, T or F?
Mobil 1 is easier to find.
