What is the widest 18" wheel/tire combo I can fit on my S6 without spacers or rubbing
I've searched the threads but I'm not having much luck finding an answer to my questions here.
My desire is to take advantage of the nicely flared S6 fenders with a wider fitment than stock. I'd like to move to an 18" rim and would prefer a 9" or 9.5" width to accomodate a 265 or 275 width if possible.
I think I'll need a wheel with an offset in the range of 28-30 (not more than 30).
Any real world examples out there of a fitment witout spacers or rubbing that is wider than the stock 255/40/17 setup?
Yes I know that heavier, wider wheels and tires will slow the car down, make it track worse in grooves and skip more over bumps. I don't care.
Thanks!

This may help. If the C5 S6 chassis points are the same as the RS6 then you can take known RS6 wheel fitments and translate to the S6.
19x9 et 29 with a 275/30/19 is known to work.
Also, 19x9.5 et 32 with a 275/30/19 is known to work.
Tire selection is key. The close point is the steering knuckle and the little **** that sticks out near the crown of the tire.
As soon as I pick my S6 up this week...I can let you know how my RS6 18" wheels with 255/35s fit. et is 30 on those rims.

This might help. There are a few S6s and widebodys in this thread. There are a lot of pictures and descriptions of the set-ups, so you can see what each will look like, too. Although it doesn't exactly answer your question, it does give you an idea of what is possible.
