Default Whats the biggest tire size I can get on a 4.2 1.5" lowered??

I currently have 255/35/18's all around and I definetly get a little rub(at least I think its from the tires) when I do a slow rolling turn, the whole car vibrates. I am NOT sure what the vibration is. Also, I will be upgrading soon to a 255/30/19 all-around, is there anyone with this setup on there 4.2. Also, is staggered a dumb idea for our cars since its AWD or the fact the front fender flares wont be filled in like the rear ones will with a staggered setup

Default Sounds Like You Have Suspension Trouble Already With Your Vibration Description...

I run 255/18/35's with wheel offset 30 ,same as RS6, with Bilstein PSS9 coilover system, lowered 1.5" with no rubbing at all. Forget the staggered setup on a Quattro 4.2. Your description while turning indicates a broken suspension part or severely worn part. Find a lift and check it out ASAP. Replace OEM sways with Hotchkiss for less than $400.00. What a difference the larger sways make at turn in/cornering. If you want a staggered setup, go rear wheel drive. And by all means lose the BMW on this Forum!!!

Default sounds like you have something wrong with your suspension

get that looked at before you slap 19's on the car

Default had all suspension components checked, no problems. I have a 10 mm spacer on a ET35 wheel

The vibration only happens when im slowly turning my wheels rolling as if I was back up from my garage, so 255's are fine in the front?

Default Take the spacers off, then see if the problem persists. Most people don't

push out to et25 with 255 tires.

Default Thats my problem, im looking for a setup where it will fit the fender flares just perfectly

and looking for a 19" rim, I am currently at a 1.5" drop what do I do in order to NOT get a spacer? Just a wider rim? I found the following:

1) 19x8.5, ET35
OR
2) 19x8.0, ET32

Should I slap a 235,245 or 255 tire all around?

Default This is a 4.2 C5, right?

Forget the spacers and go with 8.5"x18" 30 offset wheels. The 4.2 widebody accomodates that wheel size and offset, just as the RS6 does.

Default FWIW, I have 235's on my 4.2, with 18x8.5" rims (et30.)

My car is dropped 1.75"F and 1.5"R. I still have plenty of space to mess around with, which is why I plan on eventually getting spacers (either 10 or 15mm.)
