What's the difference between 2001 and 2002 C5 A6 2.7t?
I am looking at two with the same price 2001 has 60K and 2002 has 83K, but 2002 has nice wheels and right color (Black/Black).

Here's a list of a few things...
Non-cosmetic changes:
"Sport" tiptronic tranny mode (vs. 2001's 4-3-2)
628 servotronic steering module relay (vs. 605) a bit less boost
235 tires on sport model (vs. 225, I think later 2001 had 235s)
Bi-xenon headlamps
Power folding sideview mirrors (kind of cool!)
ESP standard equipment
Symphony II headunit with in-dash CD changer
Track (F/R) is different 60.9/61.8 (2002), 58.9/58.2 (2001)
non-HP2 front brake calipers
Note: I suppose the HP2 caliper is "better" than the 2002+ version of the front brakes. Yes, it is supposed to be higher performance, dual piston, etc., but it has certainly limited my wheel choices!
Cosmetic changes:
Redesigned face (grill, bumper, hood, flush headlight washers, etc.)
Thicker glass (much more quiet inside the cabin)
Exposed exhaust tips (but teeny tiny tips)
Wood trim around hazard switch
Aluminum instrument cluster rings (I think the cluster is illuminated when car is running regardless of light switch position)
Amber rear turn signals
Dual rear fogs lights
Gloss black vs. carbon fiber rear plate surround
Rubbery plastic vs. gloss plastic for light switch and various buttons for radio, climate control, etc.
I am sure I've missed something, but this is what I could come up with...

Here's a few more
2001 had two sport packages, PSK and PST. The main difference was 16" vs 17" wheels. Split spoke vs BBS.
I also seem to remember people reporting that the 2002 stock suspension was more firm and closer to the 2001 sport suspension.
Did the 2002 had the ski sack with the Cold Weather option? The 2001 did.
2002 had an Onstar option.
Visor warning labels are impossible to reomve on the 2002 :-)

I remember something about oil line upgrade in 2001 in S4. Did Audi do the same in A6?
Also about brakes in 02 - are they really much worse then HP-2?
I didn't notice much difference...
The car I am looking is not intented to be tracked...
