car was fine cruising about 80 and suddenly starting missing or misfiring. stopped at next exit and car was vibrating and running ruff. shut it down and sat with it off for about ten minutes. still did the same thing after shut down. engine light was on the whole time. felt like it only had about 1/2 the horsepower that it normally does?????

VAG'd it and found the above codes. I reset it and the CEL is off and car is running fine, WTF??

Default how many miles? When was timing belt last changed? also>

check the simple things first > pull the plugs and see "what for"? mine were in good condition but had gotten fairly arced on the electrodes ..... when she finally decided not to start ..... also sounds like you could have popped a vacuum line or something ..... usually if you are lucky it is something simple .... maybe u got some moisture in the fuel ...try some fuel treatment .... to evap all the moisture .... worse case you wore the timing belt and its causing your mis fire condition ... Maybe someone else can chime in..good luck
