Default Wheel Collision (Bath, Pa) is da bomb!

Just swapped out my 39 month old 4.2 sport wheels for a set of refinished 4.2 sport wheels. Major visual enhancement and, more importantly, man is it vibration free now that I'm back riding perfectly round, road force balanced, shoes.

Default Can you explain "swapped out"? Were yours straightened/refinished or is this a different set?

Did they take yours on trade, like a core replacement? If so, I'd be interested in that. My 4.2 sport wheels are getting a little dull.

Thanks!
Shaun

Default Yup, been praising that place for years.

Used em 3 years ago on a replaced wineglass wheel at %70 less dealer cost.

Default nope, traded them in as "cores," because I didn't want to screw around with sending one out ...

at a time. Instead, I had them get four refinished wheels in, drove out there and had them swapped out in one fell swoop. Would have been cheaper giving them one of mine at a time, but this was far easier. With the core trade, each wheel ran $350 ($390 without core). A fair price, considering new OEM wheels go for more than $900 from the dealer.

Part No. H58743

Default ISATI

Don't even own a digicam. Suffice it to say that the old wheels had their share of curb rash (which didn't just look cruddy but was throwing them out of round to the point where balancing was becoming a delicate issue), plus one had a big scrape on its face. The refinished wheels look 100% perfect, not a single blemish anywhere and, boy, do they ride smooth.

One caveat, as Wheel Collision explained to me: the refinished wheels look identical to each other, but slightly off on coloration when compared to OEM. So, if you only send one or two wheels in for refinishing, you will be able to notice the difference on a close inspection. The solution is to refinish one entire side of the car at a time, or just get them all done like I did, as a way of sprucing up a 39 month old car.
